IT Strategic Planning methodology

I developed a strategic planning methodology for use across all NT Government Departments.

Problem Statement / Opportunity: The project involved developing a strategic planning methodology for all Northern Territory Government Departments. This initiative aimed to establish a unified, efficient approach to strategic planning, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities within each department. The methodology was designed to be adaptable, ensuring relevance across various government sectors while maintaining a coherent, overarching strategic framework.

What I Did / Delivered: I researched and developed a strategic planning methodology, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches. This involved extensive research and analysis to understand the distinct needs of each department, ensuring the methodology was both flexible and comprehensive. The process included the creation of templates and guidelines to aid departments in crafting their strategic plans, focusing on clear objectives, actionable strategies, and measurable outcomes. Additionally, the methodology emphasized alignment with the broader goals of the Northern Territory Government, promoting cohesion and effectiveness across all departments.

Outcomes: The strategic planning methodology was successfully implemented across Northern Territory Government Departments, significantly enhancing their planning processes. It provided a structured yet adaptable framework that guided departments in setting clear, achievable goals aligned with the government’s broader objectives. This initiative not only improved the efficiency and effectiveness of strategic planning within individual departments but also fostered a more unified and strategic approach to government operations across the Northern Territory.
